"Recently starting ordering from here and have not been dissatisfied. Everything I've ordered so far has tasted delicious and fresh. The portions are sized very nicely. I will continue to order from here when I need my Asian food fix and it's a plus that it's not far from my job. So far I've had the Lo Mein, Karee Curry, Chive Dumplings and Basil Noodles (Drunken Noodles). If you're wanting something sweet, I definitely recommend the mango sticky rice!"

"I haven’t had walnut shrimp this good in over a decade, PLEASE add it to the regular menu!
I do appreciate properly sized portions, but this one was a bit TOO small— slightly under what you’d expect for a dish like this, especially at that price point. It’s on the pricier side for a LESS than tapas-style portion, despite how incredible it tasted. I’d order this regularly if the portion were just a bit larger.
However, the steamed rice portion was fair, but the price felt insultingly excessive— over $5 for a single serving (with maybe a bite or 2 leftover) would be the ONLY thing that might make me hesitate..

"Super tasty, great portion sizes, incredible flavor, and arrived quickly and still hot.
My favorites were the Tofu Khua Khao (vegan fried rice) and the Mango Salad. The former was very classic and satisfying, and the latter was very fresh with lots of bright and Very well-balanced flavors. The Crab Cake tasted great, but was much smaller than expected; the only item I had with a less than impressive portion size. The Mieng Kana Tofu tasted great, though did fell apart a bit during packing or delivery. The Lemongrass Fizz is a bit less "fizzy" than the name may imply, that said it tastes fantastic. It also works perfectly as a pallet cleanser, especially with spice; so if you are someone who struggles a bit with spice this would be a great companion to the spicier dishes. I also ordered the Chocolate Mousse Cake, haven't tried it yet but it was packaged well to hold form during travel, and it looks incredible.
Sauces were all in separate containers rather than mixed in, so everything arrived the right consistency, and tasted amazing. In my experience, the Portion sizes are decently large compared to most DC restaurants; an entree + appetizer would serve as a solid 2 meals.
First time ordering from here and very happy with the choice. Will definitely be ordering from here again!"

"This is my go to pho place due to the quality and size of the pho portions, BUT the last time I ordered I was severely disappointed. The pho had about half the food I'd normally get. Exactly 3 pieces of beef in the broth, and 3 slices in the bowl. It was unusually stingy.
Maybe it's because I ordered a lot of food, so they made the pho portion much smaller, but I was ordering food while I was sick so I could rely on it through the week. Usually one order of pho from them (with extra broth) lasts me 2-3 meals, but this was only one meal for me, and so my sick plan did not really work out. Not fun when you're down and out.
So, really disappointed by this last order. But the food quality is still great, and I'm hoping this was a fluke and not the new normal."

Drunken Noodles had little flavor. Vegetables were mostly uncooked and very difficult to chew, which I guess is a creative choice. As well, cuts of mushrooms that were impossible to chew, quite disappointing.
I ordered spring rolls from the vegetarian menu selection and I got pork and shrimp rolls :/ So those were inedible.
The Thai iced tea was 1) small for 7.75, not good value for TEA! 2) even tasted watered down, barely any cream at the bottom to mix in with the tea. Super disappointing.
The mango sticky rice was ok. Rice was mostly flavorless. The sauce was super sweet, no salty balance. The mango was also not very good. Sweet but not the sour balance. It was not a good texture either. Usually a restaurant will not serve mango sticky rice if the mangos are not juicy and ripe. This one was not ideal.
All in all I would neither order from Doi Moi, nor visit them in person, again."

" Springtime Roll Solstice - spring rolls were good and hit the spot. I assume the rest is ment to be tost together in some kind of noodle salad? And ment to justify the $20 charge for 5 rolls? There is half a container on noodles and the other half filled with vegetables so in that sence there is a large amout of food. The disappointing thing was that the rolls were placed on topof the noodles and veggies making half of each side soggy instead of crunchy.
Chicken Pho-rtune - can be sum up by saying "bland" If youre sick or have a picky eater this may be just what you need but all the flavor comes from adding sriracha, oyster sauce, or salt even. The noodles and chicken are in a separate bowl from the broth which is not inmy helpful for dividing portions but keeps the noodles from getting mushy. The noodles do stick to hard but as soonas you ad the broth they easily start separating on their own without any effort. I added the egg and I shouldve known better since it was hard instead of runny. "

"Absolutely delicious! We like other Peter Chang-owned restaurants and this one is great, too! The Homestyle Stir-Fried Pork Belly was amazing - tender, beautifully spiced and a generous portion. The Salt and Pepper Shrimp were addictive - well seasoned (but not spicy at all) and cooked perfectly. They'd make a great appetizer shared among several people. They were so delicious that my 11 year old stole some even though she's usually quite picky. She also really enjoyed her Combo Lo Mein. The Sweet and Sour Chicken Slices were also great. Very flavorful with a perfect balance of sweetness. The Dry-Fried Eggplant was very tasty - crispy even though it had to travel here from the restaurant and well seasoned. The only slight let down was the golden mountain Golden Mountain Beef. We've had the Golden Mountain Chicken at other PC restaurants and it works better as chicken. The texture of some, but not all, of the pieces of the beef was stringy and a little dry. Over all it was a wonderful meal and we will order again!"
"I don’t usually write food reviews, but I have to say I was disappointed. The spicy eggplant wasn’t actually spicy and was overly oily. The shredded beef with peppers had far more peppers than beef, which threw off the balance of the dish. Overall, both dishes lacked flavor. I also found the portion sizes to be quite small compared to what I typically get at Chinese restaurants for a similar price."

"All the food was amazing. Fluffiest Bbq Pork Bao (Buns) 手工制作叉烧包(2个) I have ever had. The Orange Chicken (Gluten Free) 陈皮鸡 (Gluten Free) had a real orange flavor and a delicious spice to it. Veggie Spring Roll (2) 春卷 (2) were fantastic, so fresh and flavorful. Enjoyed the chance to try Scallion Pancake 葱油饼 and was not disappointed. In terms of value for momey it was a little pricy but the quality was great. Bao came with two not the three pictured, but the taste/texture overrode any surprise I had there."

The Lo Mein 捞面, while the portion was decent, the flavor was missing. The dish was very bland overall. Extremely disappointing.
The Veggie Wonton In Scallion Sauce (6) 素馄饨 （6）were more or less just a mouthful of sauce.
The Mango Slush 芒果味冰沙was the best thing that I ordered, unfortuately they put it in the paper bag, and the the drink sweat through and almost fell out of fhe bag!
Overall... unfortunately...DO NOT RECCOMEND... "
