"The food is AMAZING. They pack the container full. It's flavorful and you can tell it's made with intention. This is my new favorite spot."
"The food is good ,well prepared..Best Jerk chicken, tried their jerk salmon once it's good. When you ask for hot sauce and sweet sauce on the side they dump it in the food.Twice I had that experience I couldn't eat the food.Another thing they charge you for large meals and send medium no good.Bought 1/2 1b jerk chicken I was embarrassed to see the serving, not complaining over food but people must get their money's worth please do better your customers will stay with you Thanks"

"Compared to the other Curry Goats I've had along Grand Ave, this is about bottom tier for me. Other places load my container up with Curry Goat while this place loads up the specific section. The spices in this Curry Goat was also underwhelming. Good price, but other places give you more value and flavour"

"The Fried Shrimp dinner was very good. The shrimp were fresh and large and cooked to perfection. I asked fo stew chicken gravy on my rice and peas. It was good. I was supposed to get Cole slaw with it but did not get it. I informed DD and they gave me a small credit to use for next time. The side of fried plantain was sweet and just right. "Great portion, great taste!!"
"I love oxtail and was excited to try theirs. My order came to a little over $40.00 and I felt though it was pricey, good oxtails is at times worth it. It was not tender, the gravy was overly sweet vs savory and overall taste was perhaps the worst oxtail that I have ever eaten. I also tried theirs shrimp Pattie...which was 6.75 that too was not very tasty. The rice and the vegetables were ok. They have a picture of rum cake but it says rock cake. I ordered a slice to see if it was actually rum cake or rock cake. Ps it was rock cake which is almost a cookie texture so there is an error on their website. I would not waste my money here unless it's for a regular spicy beef Pattie or bread. The authentic flavors that I know was definitely missing from both dishes. I want to say more but I don't want to be mean, just honest."

"Ordered a plate of Curry Chicken , Curry Goat and Island Flavor Jerk Island Flavor Jerk Chicken . Everything is absolutely delicious! First time ordering from this establishment and definitely won't be my last. I haven't had Jamaican food in a while and had a craving but I didn't know where to order from. Very impressed and highly satisfied. I also ordered the Jerk Chicken Patty and it did not disappoint. Mac and Cheese is baked to perfection. Meal portions are large enough to last for lunch and dinner. So glad I got my money's worth. "
"Ordered 2 oxtail meals (one with rice and peas and the other with white rice). THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! I was born and raised in JA and I was hesitant to buy JA food here on long island. This place is the real deal, lots of meat and rice for the price (and so much gravy). Plantain and vegetable were also so so delicious. I would give this place more stars if I could. "I got the oxtail with mac&cheese...the vegan oxtail was DELICIOUS !!!! Omg only thing missing was the actual oxtail lol no offense at all. The mushrooms were the perfect substitute. "I believe this is the second time I've ordered. The food is fresh, well seasoned and large portions. I made a mistake with my order and they called me immediately and gave me what I had asked for in the special instructions. Also the fried fish is amazing!"
"I never went to or ate at a Colombian restaurant before so when my Colombian Husband recommended this place I was all in! The food is awesome especially the place in Hicksville's Thursday special omg it's my absolute favorite I crave it all the time! They make all their food once you order it which is awesome! Some dishes come with a big portion which is nice but the Thursday special my favorite isn't so big like you wish it came with more unfortunately. The special comes with this awesome stew on top of the rice and chicken and omg it's so good but the crappy part is they give you a soup on the side and it's not the same the soup on the side that they give you kinda sucks! I wish I could get a large order of the stew they put on top of the food that would make my entire life!"

"Food is awesome. The Ropa Vieja was tender and soaked with flavor. The plantains were sweet and dense, not greasy. Black beans were flavorful. The Cubano was crispy had all the elements but instead of the usual green mojo had a minced garlic oil spread and Yuca fries on the side. The pork was super tender, lean and flavorful. The Pollo a la plancha was excellently grilled with a nice salad with corn and sliced Avocado."
"The food was flavorful. I ordered 3 meals but I was so disappointed, for the price, the amount of rice provided. They gave me a large aluminum container with one cup of white rice in it. "Having lived near the mile for 7 years, I've been on a quest for truly authentic jerk chicken. As someone who grew up in Queens, I know good Jerk, and this spot is the only one that's lived up to the hype. Believe me, I've tried them all! The flavor is incredible, perfectly capturing that classic jerk taste.
My only hesitation is the price. I recently paid close to $30 for a meal that felt more like an $18 value. While the taste is amazing, that price point might make me think twice about ordering again."
"Listen! Everything was so tasty that once I started eating it I couldn't put it down! I'm American and I Love good clean Caribbean food! The jerk chicken ; tasted clean and what I mean by that time was taken to prepare the chicken! As there are no veins ! Reminding me of my Caribbean girl friend who really made love to whatever she prepared! Thank you Jerk on the Water for recreating that experience for me ! It is an absolute must to dine here! As soon as my vision is restored I will be eating in house and not through Door dash ! In the mean time I will continue to order my meals from here. Even if it's a little more than cook unity or Nutre meal plans it's worth it! The coleslaw is banging and the Mac n cheese made for N appetizing meal ; chef, you put your foot in it!! I am ordering again! Do you make Irish moss? I'd love to experience some good fresh sea moss!"

"The grio and rice was flavorful. The grio was dry, which was not pleasant but the seasoning was good. The fried green plantains were soggy. Flavorful but soggy due to being in a container with the rest of the food. That's easily fixed by putting them in a separate container that doesn't hold much condensation. The rice was the best part. "Were you low on veggies? I barely had much in my Plain Rasta Pasta..which defeats the purpose of this dish. I'm not sure what was the rush that you couldn't seal my container...you just left it open, and barely sealed. Anyways, the dish is amazing, it's fresh, and flavorful."

"Had the bandeja de pollo Al carbon which was delicious. Generous portion, rice and beans are delicious and fries. Ordered the side of maduros but they seemed undercooked, hard in the middle. The caramel flan is disgusting. Sweetest thing ever, straight up sugar, tastes nothing like a flan. I put some whipped cream on it to try to make it less sweet and more tolerable, but I couldn't eat it. The little cup ones at the super market taste better than that. Food was great, desert was awful and will never order that again. Maduros are hit or miss. "

"I was honestly surprised by the portion size when my order arrived. For a medium oxtail, I expected a more generous serving. I received two larger pieces of oxtail along with two much smaller pieces that were mostly bone. The oxtail itself was flavorful and tender, and the rice was good, but there wasn’t enough gravy to go with all of the rice. Overall, the food tasted great, but the portion size didn’t match my expectations, especially for the price. I hope they consider being more generous with both the oxtail and the gravy."
"We are a Caribbean family and the jerk chicken was tasteless, The "mixed vegetables" was just a small container of very old stewed cabbage. Even the plantains were pretty tasteless. We had leftovers but we threw them out."

"Always love their food. My son has been eating there since he was 2. The rolls are always fresh and soft. Oxtails forever tender. Mac n cheese is amazing. It's southern style mac so no peas or anything crazy in it. And out absolute fave is the Ackee & Saltfish! "
"The peas and rice tasted spoiled, the oxtails were all bones and the container was a medium size but they charged the amount for a large, and the macaroni and cheese was burnt and they gave me one scoop for $7!!"
