The orange chicken was crispy like a meatball covered in breadcrumbs. Very weird. Orange chicken is usually lightly crispy but overall soft. Again, no seasonings. The tofu actually had GREAT crisp (a vegan confirmed) but it was bland as well. No seasonings, soy sauce or garlic. Come on guys. These individual dishes were too expensive to be this bland. They ended up not getting eaten. My order overall was over $100 for 67. Buffalo Wings , 6. EGG ROLLS (also good) , 49. Thai Fried Rice and 65c. Orange Chicken with a side of fried rice. "As a sushi chef myself I can confidently say that Tokai is in my top 3 spots for sushi in SCV. The quality of the fish is very good. I appreciated the fact that they actually marinated the Ikura (salmon roe). Many sushi restaurants skip this step so you just end up eating salty salmon eggs. My only complaint is I think the marination proved to be a little too much on the sweet side. Other than that my meal was fantastic. I ordered the BAKED GREEN MUSSELS which are probably the best tasting ones in SCV. The red SURF CLAM SUSHI (1PC) which isn't for everyone but has always been one of my favorites. SEARED SALMON SUSHI (1PC) which was delicious.
