I have only recently moved to moorpark, and was honestly concerned about finding a good sushi place. I ordered from sushi planet on a whim because ot was notably more afordable than the next local option, and i have little to no desire to even attempt another restaurant now. The quality os fantastic. the prep gorgeous, and they give a generous amount of condiments, so there is plenty of wasabi and ginfer for all. so happy to have found my new place. not sure if they have a sushi bar in house, bjt if they do, it will be my go to for so many occasions. Give it a try, I cannot say enough about the freshness and quality. The only con is that their miso soup is a bit basic, but it is definitely still delicious"

"The food was absolutely delicious. Sumo sushi is a 10/10 restaurant and IS my favorite. The portions were amazing, the fish was fresh. I would love to order again and again. Now for specifics, Dinner Special 1 and Dinner Special 2 were great. The crunch mania roll was the better one and the 4 piece sushi were great and fresh. The other roll was definitely a little messy but tasted great. The Crunchy Garlic Salmon Roll was AMAZING, the spicy tuna inside was spicy so just be aware but I liked it. The Salmon Sushi, Yellowtail Sushi and the Scallop Sushi were great. I love nigiri and these were a great portion with an even better taste. Garlic Edamame was great, PLEASE do yourself a favor and make it spicy. The taste is great and the texture is great too. "

"Masa sushi is one of the best spots in Ventura County. The quality and potion of the sushi is absolutely outstanding. The Masa Omakase is amazing if you love nigiri type sushi. All the pieces of fish were fresh and delicious. The spicy tuna roll that came with it was not my favorite due to the tuna being mushy. The Sushi & Sashimi Special was delicious as well. The marbling on the sashimi were perfect. Everything was fresh and my favorite part was the salmon. The salmon has this perfect soft and fatty rich taste, one of my favorites. The Super Mario Roll was not my favorite, the roll itself just wasn't very well put together and as soon as I grabbed a piece, it all fell apart. I wanted to give this roll a try but unfortunately did not meet the standards for a good roll. The Avocado & Salmon Roll was okay to say least. The avocado was fresh but when taking a bite all I tasted was avocado, it would be hard to tell there was salmon in the roll. The Salmon (Sake) and the Yellotail (Hamachi) were absolutely amazing. The fish to rice ratio was perfect. The marbling on both were amazing. I would have posted more photos but it only allows me to post 5, these pieces are a MUST TRY. Overall I wanted to try new rolls to review but unfortunately some did not meet the requirements for a good roll. The nigiri and sashimi pieces were the star of the show and I can't stress this enough to trust the chef and get the omakase. I 100% would order again and I will continue to try new items."
