The scallions weren't julienned and were soggy and floppy due to being uncut. I there was some sort of other non-traditional floppy greenery in the dish that I also didn't care for, maybe it was some sort of diced cabbage? It wasn't kimchi. I would've preferred a more traditional recipe without it as the leftovers were even less ideal from it"

The worst was the broccoli that was swimming in an overly spicy sauce. Also, broccoli from other Chinese restaurants I’ve been to has always been softer and tender, but this broccoli was too hard almost like it was not cooked properly. The little flavor it had was overpowered by the sauce. I ended up throwing away almost the entire thing and never finished the chicken. "It seems like in the past I was able to specify a level of spiciness/heat -- anyway this time I wasn't and it was a little spicier than I would have chosen. But it was good enough,and the next day's cold leftovers had magically toned itself down. There was generous number of shrimp in the dish. They were noticeably cooler than green rest to the indecent in the dish, which made me think they had been taken precooked from the refrigerator and stirred into the hot dish to draw some warmth. There's a certain amount of sense in doing it that way, as it's easy to overcook and make shrimp tough, especially pre-cooked ones. But it's the noodles in the Drunkards Noodles bowl that brings me back again and again. They hide in the dish, absorbing the flavors while still maintaining their distinct identity . Near perfection!"
