"Breakfast Sampler's were amazing. The chocolate chip pancakes tasted like chocolate chip cookies. Eggs hash browns and meat were cooked to perfection. Only issue I had was the wait time, out of Grits and apparently someone picked my order by mistake or maybe on purpose to get a free meal but it's ok people need to eat too. With that being said ihop remade my order fresh and the portions on the hash browns were small but tasted good. Would definitely order again"
"ol where should i start, they sent me coffee with no creamer, or sugar. th eggs are very bland with some weird flavor but they didn't really taste like eggs, the new "Thick ‘N Fluffy French Toast" is pretty much nothing but a thick slice of bread/cake. in my opinion if you wanna true well cooked breakfast you're better off going to waffle house. its a lot cheaper for better food."

A mouth watering perfectly seasoned Parmesan chicken breast. Truly generous portions and quality ingredients. Thank You Abele's Family Restaurant."
"Abele's Family Restaurant is a Morganton gem. Many Restaurants have come and gone over the last four decades as have many trends in the resteraunt industry. Abele's has seen them all come and go and they're still here. Still owned by the same family and still making the fabulous home style food at reasonable prices that have kept them in business for decades. At one time the restaurant was a Shoney's so if you miss that slice of Americana you are in luck. Abele's still has many of the Mainstays from that menu along with introductions of their own. Great Burgers, Fries, Onion Rings and old fashioned Milkshakes to go with them. They serve baked potatoes with various toppings and every potato beautiful and almost too large for a plate. The fish basket has generous portions of hand breaded fish but the absolute best deal in Morganton is Abele's ITALIAN FEAST... Chicken Parmesan smothered with a generous serving of amazing spaghetti topped with Parmesan cheese. Friendly service and delicious food. If live in Morganton or here for a visit, Abele's Family Restaurant is a must."

"They didn't have most of the stuff I ordered they gave me replacement items though and everything was very good. Spicy chicken tenders and the fries are awesome. They also have me free strawberry biscuits for me trouble."
"Yet again it took them about 30 minutes after the dasher arrived to get the food ready, got some cold fries and a tiny chicken breast on one of the sandwiches. This specific location always doesn't do a good job."

"This is the best chicken place in Hickory now, by a mile (East Coast Wings) has gone way downhill and their max spice level being X-hot now is just sad). The menu isn't huge because everything they do (I've tried it all), they do very well. The prices are also really good. Do yourself a favor and try it out. You won't want to go anywhere else in the city for chicken, unless you need a whole one."

"Stuffed Cheesecake Pancake Breakfast & Gravy n' Biscuits were both superb. 3 delicious and fresh biscuits with a generous amount of homemade gravy. These pancakes are incredible, if you're a fan of Cheesecake, I highly recommend these"
"The chicken fried chicken was way overcooked and there was no gravy. The Cole slaw was basically just chopped cabbage with little to no dressing or flavor at all. The mashed were ok and so were the apples. Everything was just blah and a big disappointment. The portion size was big so quantity was not the issue. I've had this same meal in the restaurant and loved it so maybe just a to-go issue."

"I got the 14 oz ribeye with two sides. Salad and the squash casserole was outstanding. Sarah called to be sure to cook my steak how they liked and also to make sure they made our wings correctly. It means a lot to call to be sure. (The call comes from a 1888 number and my phone thought it was a spam number. ) great place will order again 10/10"
"Amazing! Prime Rib French Dip & Cheese Fries was so good - the horseradish sauce that comes with it makes it so much better. "The food was fantastic, we were missing the rice pilaf though. The steak was cooked like I asked, the shrimp was good also. Sweet potato fries always good. BBQ ribs were great. All in all not the first time I've ordered the Rib Eye*, Ribs, and Crispy Shrimp Combo The cheesecake is always fantastic. Plenty of food to split."
"I ordered The Big Steakhouse Kabobs, Cheesecake and a Sweet Tea. Just short of $40 for one person!!! Normally I don't spend that kind of money on myself but my son purchased one for me recently and it was delicious and almost perfectly cooked. This time, the beef was burned and overcooked. That was very disappointing as I had to wait longer. When I arrived the order was still not ready snd I was told they were cooking it fresh. I thought all orders where cooked fresh. I had a hard time cutting the beef with a knife and chewing was almost impossible. Several pieces had to be set aside due to being burned. This order should come cooked Medium Rare to Medium since you don't have an option to choose temperature.
Very disappointing. $28 wasted.
The cheesecake was almost $13 alone, although it is a very large slice with strawberry topping, it too felt overpriced. I had to pay almost $5 for a 16 oz (approximately) sweet tea!
This is typically a good restaurant as I dont like fast food. In this case, I would have been better off to eat from fast food."

"We both had the BBQ with baked beans and Mac & cheese. One thing about their BBQ, you get your money's worth. The portions are large and it's very good BBQ. BUT, the real reason we ordered from them was so that we could order the Homemade Banana Pudding. It is too die for. Again, you get your money's worth because it's a huge bowl. My only complaint is that they put the pudding in the same bag as the food and the hot food melts the pudding and the whipped topping. This time the puddings were in a separate bag but by the time we got them they had been turned upside down and the bottom tin was crushed and half of one of our puddings ended up in the bottom of the bag. They were still delicious but quite a mess."
"Was highly dissappointed....ordered no banana peppers on my salad...and the were on it and you can't get the juice off the salad. Also ordered thousand island for my salad. Which i did not receive. The meats were cold but were delicious and Huge dinosaur size portions enough for three meals. And a large portion of homemade chips. I also didn't get any garlic bread with my chicken parmasian which I think i was suppose too. It was made and delivered quickly so should have still been hot."
