"One of the very few places in the area that has vegan plant based breakfast and it's done so well; it's delicious every time! I do miss the fresh lemon that used to come with the yummy vegan egg Sammy but I have some lemon at home. The portions are huge at least for the Boca Egg Sammieand the Health Nut. The Health Nut is soooo good! Always fresh and gorgeous. I love the coffee and tea options, especially their signature Rose Cappucino. Over the last couple of years, I've tried several flavors and teas. Overall I love the whole vibe of The Modern Rose, it's a neat place with awesome people making delicious healthy meals. Menemen Shakshouka 2/10 poached eggs were hard boiled , no useful yoke to be found.. no greens (cilantro/parsley/arugula) and sadly was plain tasting overall. Also considerably small portion size.
Turkish Coffee 0/10 unbelievably bad. Tastes like water. Was the only item that arrived uncovered and had coffee spilled on the lid, so not sure if tampered with. The rest of the items had stickers ensuring they were not opened.
I love shakshouka but this place let me down on my first go around. It wasnt so bad that I wont try again. Theres room for improvement and the quality is there. "
