"Everything was delicious and honest. Nothing seemed overly loaded with fat. The 90) Saag Paneer and 81) Chana Masala (ND)(GF) had plenty of spinach, paneer, and chickpea respectively. The naans were good, the 2) Samosas (2 pcs.) Were full and tasty, the rice was light and there was plenty of it. Really lovely meal."
"Probably one of the best 129) Carrot/ Gajar Halwa I have had outside of India, need to mention 100) Mutton Biryani (H)(GF) was fantastic the meat was pretty juicy and fresh. Both had larger portions than expected. Definitely coming back to this place."

"The Palak Paneer was just the right amount of spice, and it was so creamy! The Naan was soft and fluffy and perfect. The portions were very good for the price. Would definitely consider ordering again next time I'm in town!"
"Probably the worst chicken Tikka masala, the gravy was spoiled and absolutely flavorless. There were hardly 5 small pieces of chicken. Any Indian restaurant would serve a better gravy than this. Avoid this place at any cost.
And giving offer on this senseless. Staff at pickup point was not friendly he might be the kitchen staff but was very upsetting . "

"First off the Garlic Naan is huge with LOTS of garlic! delicious. The Lamb Biryani À La Carte is also a very good price and comes in a decent portion with the side sauces. very flavorful, lots of rice, decent amount of lamb chunks. Would definitely order here again"
"Wow this was so good tonight. Everything was awesome. The garlic naan was fantastic, the Chicken Tikka Masala À La Carte was so scrumptious, even the rice was lovely. The aloo saag and the dal were slightly less my favorite but still good and all in all felt like a lot of food for the value. And can't forget the very tasty mango lassi"

"Swagat has been a staple in the PNW for decades and their food never disappoints. Amazingly flavorful and cooked to perfection, the Aloo Gobi is so comforting, especially paired with the warm spices of the Sambar and some delicious naan."
"Food has a pretty good taste but it's sweeter and less spiced than other Indian restaurants we have tried. The biggest disappointment was the price compared to the portion size- the Chicken Tikka Masala had 6 chunks of chicken in it. More than half the container was sauce. We received 1 container of rice for 2 orders of chicken. It's perhaps their large container for rice but it's the same size as other restaurants give for a single person. The naan was overcooked. Overall mediocre meal especially for the price."

"This is easily the best Indian food I've had in Portland. My wife and I have tried so many different spots in the area and none of them come close. The Chicken Khorma and Chicken Makhani are delicious.
I get the wrap every time. It's massive and delicious. "
"I love everything here! Their flavors are amazing, everything is always fresh, and even down to the rice and naan is incredible. Good portions and sauce to other ingredients ratio, too. I have to stop myself from eating here multiple times a week! Highly recommend it all. My favorites are chicken or vegetable khorma and goa, as well as the tandori chicken. Yum!"

"I'm honestly just trying to leave a review as a reminder to myself to not order from here anymore. with the delivery fee this was $40 but the meat always has big pieces of fat and they're one of those places that serves samosas with an eggy taste and powder on the outside. if im already spending a fortune might as well go to an actual fancy indian place. but it's some people's thing "
"Delicious. The flavors are incredible. Fresh, well made. The mango lassi is perfectly tart and sweet and tastes very good. My only complaint is we should have ordered another one. The rice is perfect and the paneer masala comes with an enough to have leftovers. We regularly order this weekly. It's so good."

"Really enjoy the flavor of the Vijayawada-Chicken Biryani-. Ive also had their chicken dum biryani and that was delicious as well. I like that they include 3 individual Samosa per order. Mint chutney has a nice kick to it. Saving the other dishes for lunch so I cant review right now."
"In terms of taste and quality, both Mysore Bonda- and Bajji- were absolutely awesome. However, the chutney provided with the Mysore Bonda- was very little—barely enough for half the portion. Also, compared to the dine-in portion, the chutney takeout quantity was disappointingly smaller. Also, the Bajji- didn't come with the chutney shown in the image."

"Korma is my fav dish of ALL time, and East India continues to have the best korma I ever had. If you like Tikka Masala but are looking for something new to try, I'd recommend the Korma! I personally love to use the Garlic Naan to roll up some curry + basmati rice that is served alongside the curry dish. Indian burrito style af!
Don't forget to add Samosa Chaat and Mango Lassi (milkshake) to your order because they're the perfect combination for your pleasure and taste buds! Nothing is better than flavours and aromas of Indian spices and mango to level off the spice!
If youre looking for something that isn't a curry dish, or you don't know much about Indian food, I'd HIGHLY recommend Hyderabadi Dum Biryani with cilantro! "
"Hands down the BEST Indian food in all of Portland! Great quality, flavours, service, the whole package and more. Never messed up the order, lots of vegetarian/vegan options, lots of variety of curries to choose from. I cant wait to try them all. However my personal favourite is the korma & samosas, as well as the chana pindi. The garlic naans are perfect: not too much, not too little. Everything about East India Co. is absolutely amazing. It's certainly my dad and I's favourite thing to order every time we get to spend a weekend together watching films. "

"WOW the taste was beyond what we expected! So flavorful and each curry dish has a distinct taste that we couldn't get enough of. We ordered 3 curries - Lamb, Brisket and Pork and all are beyond a 10 rating - so DELICIOUS! We also ordered the sweet and sour chicken which if you want something fried and not overly breaded and with a lot of flavor then this is it! It is boneless, tender, juicy and the sauce all over it is not over powering but a complimentary to the chicken - recommended to eat it while still warm.
The amount you receive for take out / delivery was more than enough for 2 adults and still have left overs. If you order 1 curry dish for 2 adults then it may not be enough if you are hungry, I would suggest 2 curries or another dish.
The cost based on the amount you receive is fair since the flavor of the curry and the types of meat used in the curry and how the meat is tender & flavorful is better than what I have tasted before in other Thai restaurants.
They put a lot of love in these dishes!
This is TOP QUALITY - I can taste it!
THANK YOU FOR WONDERFUL MEAL!
We will order again."

-Vegetable Somas (always perfectly crispy & not overcooked)
-Gulab Jamun (Again they balance their sweets so proportionately!)
-Chai (so aromatic)

"Rich, robust, complex - just what you want from Indian cuisine. Surprising lack of vegetables for both curry and biryani and the Hyderabad Curry, though delicious, was a very small portion for the cost. "The Pani Puri was thoroughly delectable. The pani (tamarind water with boondis) was thick with flavor unlike the usual watered down version I've tasted elsewhere. I wish there were more pooris, though. The potato based filling perfectly balanced out the tangyness of the pani and the meethi (dates) chutney.
My only suggestion would be to include more pooris and accordingly some additional quantity of the potato filling.
PS: No photos because I already finished it all in one go :D"

"I had almost given up on finding good pad thai in Portland before checking out Khao Thai. The beef pad thai was delicious and a generous size. I especially love that it came with lime. They have easily become a new favorite of mine."
"They cook for you like you are family, like you are a family member who just walked in hungry. They cook as if they are treating your hunger as if possibly medically serious, they are so fast! They also take total care to make sure every ingredient is cooked right and they make a beautiful presentation for you, even if carry out. Mine came garnished in the most genius way, I totally enjoyed it.
And don't skip their eggrolls. Their egg rolls are melt-in-your-mouth delicious, never had better.
I have no trouble saying this is one of the best Thai restaurants in Portland and one of the best I've ever experienced."

Chicken tandoori is Not dry Delicious"
"Ordered delivery, got a Dani Bhalla Chat which was absolutely delicious. Also got garlic naan and an eggplant dish called Baingan Bhartha, which was ok. I should have ordered medium spice. The portions were great... I ate half here at work and put the other half in the fridge to bring home. The rice was nice and fluffy. They didn't provide utensils or napkins, so had to search for some. But all in all I would order from here again. Delivery was only about 2.5 miles from my work place"

"My family has been getting India over for two decades now and it’s our absolute favorite. It’s family owned and the matriarch of the family is the cook, and she grinds spices fresh on the spot for each dish!"
"I love this spot but the Lamb Vindaloo Curry was disappointing this time - five or so massive chunks of potato and only two fairly small cubes of lamb. If that's the distribution, I wouldn't recommend spending this much on a dish that's primarily potatoes.
Everything else was a delight and portions were decent."

"This was a good meal considering the amount spent. The Chicken Biryani was well seasoned and delicious. The Aloo Paratha was good though I would have liked it a bit more stuffed with the potato filling. Overall a 5 star."
"Biryani and fish pakora had good flavor. Fish was tender and succulent. Not at all dry on the inside.
Was disappointed by the Paneer Pakora given the amount of paneer used. Thickness of the paneer ranged from 4mm thick to 8mm thick. Not true to the picture on the site."

"Lamb Buna is my favorite dish and it's hard to come by. This place nailed it. Took me back to 6th Street in Manhattan.
Get a side of plain yogurt, a lassi, and naan to cool the magnificent heat (even at medium!). Spicy deliciousness w every bite. Thank you!"

"This was my first time trying Sangam - it will NOT be my last to be sure. I ordered the Coconut Masala with goat along with Vegetable Samosa Pappadums Plain Naan and some added Mango Chutney.
The curry was fantastic - I am a spice wuss so I ordered it mild. The flavors were outstanding and the goat was awesome as well. Just note the goat IS on the bone, the picture in DD kind of makes it look like it's not. Still Highly reccomend.
The Samosas - boy howdy! They were good but very spicy for me. The outsides were not that crisp but it could be from the travel. Would I get these again..maybe..I'd just need lots of milk to help with the spice.
Pappadums were outstanding as well - nice and crisp - love the flavor!
Naan - OMG - that is some of the best Naan I've had so dan good and the chutney was also very very good.
Overall - 9.5/10 "

"too small portion of fish in the dish to justify the price. The dish had fillers in the curry such as peices of almonds and spices and small peices of fish. Fish Tikka Masala. would not buy again. Naan was good nonetheless ."

"I have been wanting to try this place for awhile. I finally ordered the Aloo Gobi (Cauliflower and Potato) and was not disappointed! Authentic, delicious Indian flavors. I will definitely order again."
"This one makes me miss the star system because this is a pretty clear 2/5, but I did still "like" it; the Garlic naan was very dry and tough, most likely because my order somehow took almost an hour to cook. I would not recommend the naan.
Chicken Pakoda is nice enough but it's very mildly seasoned and somewhat dry; the flavor is hinted for sure, it's just mostly dryish chicken. I feel like I had no frame of reference for other Pakoda I would've enjoyed this a lot more, it's just disappointing relatively. I could see the mild seasoning being a draw to some as well!
The (veggie) Pakoda was the stand out here for me, a really nice crunch that goes well with the sauces.
On the subject of those sauces, they were fine but a bit weak on flavor. I appreciate that they labeled the hot one! I took the kid off but was not courageous enough once I smelled the pure heat coming off the red slurry.
Would I order it again? It's a tough question, so keep that part in mind, but probably not."
