I also loved the paneer pakoda which was also not what I expected. I never had food like this before and I'm excited for the rest. such as spinach and cheese nan, garlic nan and holy portions on getting two of the mix veg pakora! also open until 4am perfect for late night munchies! The portions were great... I ate half here at work and put the other half in the fridge to bring home. The rice was nice and fluffy. They didn't provide utensils or napkins, so had to search for some. But all in all I would order from here again. Delivery was only about 2.5 miles from my work place"

"I know this place is new & it's a neat concept but our first experience was a little awkward. I chose the lowest sugar level which didn't add any sweetness to the drink. There are many levels so not sure which to choose. The "honey bun" (not pictured) was an actual mini hamburger bun. Not a fan @ $6. What is the Rose City Chai? A description would be nice. My chai came in another store's branded cup which was confusing, I thought it was a wrong order or just a weird way to cut corners. The hot chai was good but had an open hole & spilled en route. We would order again, maybe in store for a better experience & to try the traditional clay cups."

"Probably the worst chicken Tikka masala, the gravy was spoiled and absolutely flavorless. There were hardly 5 small pieces of chicken. Any Indian restaurant would serve a better gravy than this. Avoid this place at any cost.

"The Lamb Vindaloo was amazing. Perfectly spicy but not overkill (as someone who likes some spice but not at the level of, say, ghost peppers), and very flavorful. I ordered for myself, but the portion was easily large enough for two people. I also had the Garlic Naan with ghee, and it was possibly the best naan I've ever had from a restaurant. "Food has a pretty good taste but it's sweeter and less spiced than other Indian restaurants we have tried. The biggest disappointment was the price compared to the portion size- the Chicken Tikka Masala had 6 chunks of chicken in it. More than half the container was sauce. We received 1 container of rice for 2 orders of chicken. It's perhaps their large container for rice but it's the same size as other restaurants give for a single person. The naan was overcooked. Overall mediocre meal especially for the price."

"Korma is my fav dish of ALL time, and East India continues to have the best korma I ever had. If you like Tikka Masala but are looking for something new to try, I'd recommend the Korma! I personally love to use the Garlic Naan to roll up some curry + basmati rice that is served alongside the curry dish. Indian burrito style af!
Don't forget to add Samosa Chaat and Mango Lassi (milkshake) to your order because they're the perfect combination for your pleasure and taste buds! Nothing is better than flavours and aromas of Indian spices and mango to level off the spice!

"Hands down the BEST Indian food in all of Portland! Great quality, flavours, service, the whole package and more. Never messed up the order, lots of vegetarian/vegan options, lots of variety of curries to choose from. I cant wait to try them all. However my personal favourite is the korma & samosas, as well as the chana pindi. The garlic naans are perfect: not too much, not too little. Everything about East India Co. is absolutely amazing. It's certainly my dad and I's favourite thing to order every time we get to spend a weekend together watching films. "

"Finally found a favorite Indian restaurant!
I’m really glad I decided to try this place. Everything I ordered was delicious, especially the Lasuni Dal Tadka. I’ve tried quite a few dal tadkas elsewhere, and this is by far the best I’ve had. A lot of the ones I’ve tried at other restaurants have been very thin and watery, but this one had so much more flavor and a nice, hearty texture with the lentils still having some texture. It was also spicy in exactly the way I like it. I would definitely order it again. The only thing I felt was that $17 was a little pricey for the portion size, but it was so delicious that I would still happily order it again.
The spicy naan with green chilies was also really good. It was soft, flavorful, and this was my first time trying spicy naan. I really enjoyed it and would definitely order it again.
I also tried the Masala Chai. It was good, but it had a little too much milk for my taste, and I would have preferred a stronger chai flavor.
Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely recommend this restaurant. The food was flavorful, the spice level was perfect for me, and I’m happy to have finally found a place I’ll be coming back to try more dishes."
"Everything was very flavorful and well packaged. The Vindaloo was really nice with just a bit of heat (I ordered mild). Next time I might get more adventurous and get it spicier. The Paneer Pakoda was a bit rubbery and worked out to around $1 a piece but it was still decent, mildly-spiced paneer pakoda with delicious dipping sauces; for me the sauces were actually the highlight here, they were some of the most delicious dips for paneer pakoda I've gotten! I usually don't like hari chutney but I enjoyed this one a lot so take it from me, this place's hari chutney is really good! There was also a very sweet sauce I'm unsure of the name of but was absolutely delicious; a tangy, sweet and rich sauce that really fit the flavor of pakoda well. To be fully honest about it, I'll go somewhere else for my paneer pakoda fix.
The Chicken Cheese Naan was really good though I wish they'd used a bit more filling because the flavor struggled to come through the naan's doughy flavor and felt like wasted effort (and money) at times. It was slightly charred along the edge and a little dry on the outer rim where the chicken filling didn't quite reach but I'm already lamenting only getting one because I finished it already, I highly recommend it and can't wait to have one again for lunch in the future!"

"The Pani Puri was thoroughly delectable. The pani (tamarind water with boondis) was thick with flavor unlike the usual watered down version I've tasted elsewhere. I wish there were more pooris, though. The potato based filling perfectly balanced out the tangyness of the pani and the meethi (dates) chutney.
My only suggestion would be to include more pooris and accordingly some additional quantity of the potato filling.

"Worst Indian food I've ever had.
Mattar Paneer Masala had lima beans, corn, and potatoes in it (unexpected and not a good addition) and very little sauce. The paneer was tasteless and an odd texture. It did not come with rice, even though it was pictured with rice. I paid for the large and got a small container about half full; maybe 8fl oz of curry.
The samosas were cold, small, and didn't come with any chutney like at most places.
The garlic naan was thick and dry- it felt more like focaccia bread than naan.
The biryani was good, but we asked for medium spice and it was spicier than the "hot" curry we had."

"WOW the taste was beyond what we expected! So flavorful and each curry dish has a distinct taste that we couldn't get enough of. We ordered 3 curries - Lamb, Brisket and Pork and all are beyond a 10 rating - so DELICIOUS! We also ordered the sweet and sour chicken which if you want something fried and not overly breaded and with a lot of flavor then this is it! It is boneless, tender, juicy and the sauce all over it is not over powering but a complimentary to the chicken - recommended to eat it while still warm.
The amount you receive for take out / delivery was more than enough for 2 adults and still have left overs. If you order 1 curry dish for 2 adults then it may not be enough if you are hungry, I would suggest 2 curries or another dish.
The cost based on the amount you receive is fair since the flavor of the curry and the types of meat used in the curry and how the meat is tender & flavorful is better than what I have tasted before in other Thai restaurants.
