I DID want mashed potatoes- but there is a glitch on DoorDash that won't let me get mashed potatoes with any meal from The Pantry. It asks me to make a decision about gravy on them but doesn't give me a button and it won't allow a meal with mashed in my cart at all. I actually tried it with two of the dinner entrees just to see if it would work and the button doesn't. Any other side item can add to an entree- just not mashed. This is an App issue; not the restaurant- I just want them to know.
My husband got the Chicken Terriyaki bowl- with grilled chicken, rice, veggies and pineapple- both of us liked it better than similar bowls you can get at Panera or even a Chipotle. Portions are generous here! You can not beat the consistent high quality of meals being turned out of this restaurant- from breakfast to dinner options they haven't missed a step yet. Def a hidden gem in this area. Again I say; Well done."

Lake Wales Cheese Shoppe & Deli is one of those places that makes you glad small-town businesses still exist. It’s the kind of place where people know their products, take pride in their work, and genuinely care about serving good food to their community.
I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Roast Beef Melt on Tuscan White bread, and it was fantastic. The roast beef was tender, the mushrooms were plentiful, and the Swiss cheese was melted perfectly throughout the sandwich. The bread was grilled just right—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Every bite was hot, fresh, and packed with flavor.
I also grabbed a bag of Sea Salt & Vinegar chips, which paired perfectly with the sandwich.
What really impressed me was the attention to detail. My order was carefully wrapped, clearly labeled, and sealed for takeout. You can tell they care about quality and consistency. The meats and cheeses taste fresh, and nothing feels rushed or thrown together.
If you’re anywhere near Lake Wales, do yourself a favor and stop in for lunch. We have enough chain restaurants. Places like this are what make a community special. The food is better, the service is personal, and your dollars stay local. I’d much rather support a business that takes this much pride in what they do, and I’ll definitely be back.
