"Delicious and fresh flavor! This is one of my new favorite restaurants. The portions are large and great for a family of three. 10/10 would order again. Especially the Honey Cauliflower, I was expecting it to be super sweet but it's just right. The Potato Peas Samosa's are pretty big and not too hard or soft, just the right amount of crunch, and the inside is a perfect softness, not mushy at all. The Tamarind Rice was not greasy like most places, and super fluffy! Mango Lassi is smooth with a rich yogurt flavor. And lastly the Plain Naan is the cherry on top, easy to eat and cooked just right 10/10. All alongside the amazing quality, we got pretty cool bags and even had enough for leftovers. :)"
"The Lamb Dum Biryani from Swagat is probably my favorite Biriyani in the East Bay. Generous portion, fresh, hot and it really is delicious! Have ordered multiple times, and will order again!"

"Absolutely loved this place! It’s family-owned and you can taste the love and care in every bite. The food was incredibly fresh, and the flavors—just wow. The chicken came with a spicy sauce that was an absolute explosion of flavor, the kind that lingers in the best way. The naan was perfectly soft and buttery, great for scooping up all the extra sauce from the generous Chicken Tikka Masala, which was rich, creamy, and easily enough to satisfy two people. This is the kind of spot that makes you want to come back again and again. Highly recommend! Even spoke with owners daughter to share how amazing it was! Thank you! "

- The Lamb B rice- Lamb was tender but overall it was spicier than expected definitely packed a punch

"After sampling nearly all of the Indian in the East Bay, I can honestly say that Saroor is by far and away the best!! Their lamb pasanda and garlic naan is out of this world. I also appreciate that when you ask for Indian spicy they actually make it spicy. I like that the food is made to order, so it's always fresh. It's worth the wait!!"
"This LAMB VINDALOO was the BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. it was insanely good, and the perfect level of spicy. not too much, not too little. the CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA CURRY was super flavorful and the sauce was sweet and just amazing. lowkey the chicken was kinda tough but i'll let it slide cuz damn, everything else was AMAZING"

"Amazing value for price! Chai Tea for $2.99 and Gulab Jamun for $3.99 blew me away in terms of flavor and cost. The Onion Kulcha and Chicken Tikka Masala were amazing entrees too, very flavorful. All the items came freshly hot, I even had to wait a bit for them to cool down. I'm usually picky with curry restaurants, but I am so glad I came across this one!"
"I ordered Veg tikka masala and Goat Curry.
The vegetables were well cooked, they tasted very fresh (crisp green beans, cauliflower, thinly sliced zucchini, and fine carrots). The sauce was a little bland.
The goat curry was very good, the meat was tender and the curry was flavorful.
The portions were also good. A good amount of actual meat and vegetables in the curries, and the entrees came with rice! So many places make you buy rice separately."

"Wow! We've had some pretty subpar Indian on Door Dash and this is by far the best Indian food I've had in a long time! I called to ask if they could make the Aloo Gobi extra spicy and it was perfect. The Samosa Chaat was a perfect blend of spicy and sweet and the Chicken Tikka Masala was everything you'd want it to be.
The portions were smaller than expected, but I would much rather have quality over quantity. Will happily be ordering again! "
"Veggie Pakora (6pc) fell apart really easily and were a little dry and not super crunchy. Naan was tough and chewy. Rice was luke warm. The amount of chicken in the Chicken Tikka Masala and the portion of Dal Makhani was pretty small, however, they tasted great!!"

"Veg. Jhol Momo (8 Pieces) , Paneer Tikka Masala, and Vegetable Korma (Contains Dairy/nuts) were very tasty. Veg. Biryani was reason I ordered from this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Has a little kick. When I order again I'd get an extra side of raita. The side that came with the rice was quite small. "
"Lamb chops were completely pink on the inside and tasted raw. I had to spit it out immediately. It was also very chewy. And portion sizes were very small given the price (about $28 but portions were worth maybe $17-18; even that may be generous).
I will not be ordering from here again."

"Food was Good when eaten, but strange aftertaste...like ' substandard or re-used oil ' in use for frying Masala Vadas...!!!
Coconut Chutney was bland.

"Benne masala Dose was so greasy - oil dripping from the dosa. Seemed like the dosa was deep fried.

"Ok. So, wasn't exoecting to really enjoy the Calcutta Chicken Hakka Noodles and the Chicken 65. Flavorful, and just spicy enough to enjoy it. Chicken Tikka Masala and naan were ok-to-good. Didn't disappoint, but didn't wow either. Overall, will definitely order from here, and probably will want to try some of their lesser known dishes. The quantity was quite generous for the price and overall, nicely packaged and presented well. "
"This was the first time we have ordered from Chandi. The food was good but lacked any spice. It would be nice if you could indicate spice level. Even the Lamb Vindaloo which is called "spicy" was more of a medium spice level. We liked the Saag Panner and the Chicken Tikka but again no option to choose a spice level. The food was well packed and arrived hot. Overall the food was good, a bit pricy, but good."

"Paneer Pakora was delicious- 8-9 pieces in total. I would have this over chicken nuggets to be honest . Really flavorful. The Butter Chicken Over Rice was also really good. I have very low spice tolerance and the mild still had a bit of a kick, so I was glad to have gotten the Brown Rice and the Mango Lassi. "I ordered the Chicken Vindaloo. When I say this is one of the best Chicken Vindaloos I've ever had to this day, I am not lying. They did not skimp on the curry sauce at all. There was plenty to dip the naan in. It was almost spilling out which I'm not complaining about because it was very well packaged to ensure there was no spillage. The chicken was cooked very well and it was very flavorful. I ordered spicy, and it was the perfect amount of spice to where you can still eat it, but cool off with mango lassi which wasn't overly sweet, and thin enough to drink. Vindaloo is not an easy dish, but I can say they have it mastered. Even the potatoes were not over cooked and it was a very generous portion size. I will be returning!"
"There's nothing like Indian food on a cold night! Chicken Tikka Masala Curry is a favorite in our house, although I prefer the creamy, tangy Chicken Makhanwala (butter chicken). The Bengan Bartha (Eggplant Curry) is probably the healthiest item we get, and it's still very satisfying. I haven't had a Vegetable Samosa in a long time because the kids always get to them first! Everyone loves the breads, especially the savory Garlic Naan.
I decided to try the Shahi Paneer (Peas & Cheese) tonight, and it's an intriguing dish: delicate in flavor, but somehow spicy-hot at the same time. The cheese curds in it are so fresh they squeak! The peas were in the rice, which came on the side. This was perfect, because we hadn't ordered extra rice. I kept going back for more servings of this dish!"

"Wow! Some of the best Indian food I've ever had. The Prawn Tikka Masala was amazing, I'm sure the chicken TM would be ever better but my bf doesn't eat chicken so we compromised this time. The Saag Paneer - amazing as well. Neither were too spicy, which we prefer. If you want spice I'd include it in the special instructions. The Garlic Naan and Butter Naan were okay, can't really go wrong with naan bread but could've been a little better taste/texture. Overall amazing! As far as portions go - one order of basmati rice is enough for 2 people. Wasn't sure since it was only $2.95 but it's a good amount! Veggie Vegetable Samosa were good too, could've used a bit more diverse spices/veggies. Added some mango Mango Chutney and it was definitely better that way. "
"I have ordered from here multiple times. Their vindaloo is delicious, packed with flavor and perfectly portioned for price. The lamb is so tender, it falls apart with just a fork. It always arrives hot and fresh, and I will continue to order from here, whenever I want Indian cuisine. Their garlic naan is amazing! If you are into cheesy naan, it's great too. I ordered it by accident one day, and was pleasantly surprised. (I don't usually do cheese naan.) great packaging is simple, and efficient! It keeps everything hot for arrival, and it can easily be used to store any leftovers, without dirtying any dishes."

"Their ' SAMBHAR ' , South Indian Lentil Soup on the Side is EXQUISITE ' !!! It had quartered squash in there & roasted black mustard seeds !!! All the Chutneys were Gr8 as were the ' Vada ' ( Fried Lentil Donuts ). The ' Curried Potato Filling inside the Dosa / Crepe was good as well, but the Dosa / Savory Crepe could be more ' Brown ' to my liking.
All in All though their South Indian Vegetarian Cuisine is a ' Gift to Downtown Berkeley '. Quite Unique. Have dined in and had their Thaali combination Lunch Plate & Madras Coffee.
The place is a Gem & Staff are Friendly & Obliging.
Highly recommend this ' Local Small Business' post Covid - 19 for genuine South Indian Cuisine !!!!"
"The VADAS( Fried Lentil DONUTS) were FANTASTIC, as was the Potato Filling in the DOSA CREPE wellspiced and not PUNGENT.

"If you are looking for genuinely incredible Indian food, this is the spot. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala , masala peanuts, and the cheese Naan, and every bite was packed with powerful, beautifully balanced flavors. It’s hard to find a place that hits the perfect spice level while keeping the dishes so rich and authentic. This has easily become my number one Indian restaurant in the area!""
"Today, I ordered Vegetable Pakora , the taste was amazing and flavorful.
They are using compost containers.
This was very first time I ordered online however, I had dine previously and had a Paneer Tikka Masala, Malai Kofta, Daal Makhni, Maggi, Mango Lassi, Garlic Naan and everything was so delicious and fresh.
The portions are shareable.
I would love to go there again and again.
Their outdoor seating and free parking is the best thing."

"Mehak is consistently my favorite Indian food restaurant. Their portions are generous (and come with rice), and the flavor is fantastic. The Shahi Paneer is one of my favorite dishes. Very creamy, the paneer soaks up the sauce, and great for dipping naan."

If you're looking for an authentic Indian dining experience, look no further than Noor! From the moment you step in, the warm and inviting ambiance, combined with the aroma of rich spices, transports you straight to India.
The food was exceptional! The dishes were velvety and bursting with mouthwatering flavors. The biryani was fragrant and perfectly spiced, the decadent desserts had just the right amount of sweetness, and the presentation was beautifully executed. Every dish was cooked to perfection, using high-quality ingredients and traditional homemade techniques.
The service was equally impressive--attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The staff made excellent recommendations, ensuring we had the best experience possible.
With generous portions, reasonable prices, and an unforgettable dining experience, this place is a must-visit for Indian food lovers. Can't wait to return! Highly recommend!"
"Quality ingredients and complex flavors. Butter Chicken is good but spicier than most places. If they had a lunch special I would order from here all the time. There's not really a way to get lunch here without getting food for 3+ people. I hope at some point they'll have some offerings for people who work in the neighborhood!"

"This is the Veg Bowl. After picking off a pile of pickles. Could have been really good if there was not pickle juice on my rice. I wish it was mentioned because i hate pickles. "The delivery was on time. The food was hot, tasted very good and the amount was generous: a packed carton of rice and a full pint container of curry with excellent proportion of meat (in relation to bones and sauce). Samosas were a bit spicy and filled with mashed filling (I could only taste potatoes and spices, no peas or anything else). "

"Chicken Tikka Masala, Samosa (2pcs) and the Garlic Naan were all cooked perfectly and well seasoned, incredible food especially for when I ordered it (I work overnights so my options are limited)"
"Excellent Chicken Biryani (although it was too spicy for me to finish). The spiciness is hardly the restaurant's fault, and I should have requested a milder level of heat. Nevertheless, the dish was obviouly well-prepared and flavorful with a good amount of boneless chicken for the price. I also enjoyed the Daal and Onion Naan . I loved that my food was still hot when it arrived! I will definitely order from Naan n' Curry again!"

"Aloo Mutter had three pieces of potato. For that price? Wow. Tasted great, so that's a real shame. Same for the Chicken Tikka Masala. 7 tiny pieces of chicken for 2 adults. It's a shame, this place used to be great, but now it's a total rip-off. 2 stars only because it tastes good."
