"I'm not usually one to write a review for anything, really. But I have to write this to say that I've never had this much chicken put into my butter chicken from an Indian place before.
If you're someone that cares about macros and getting enough protein, you would be very happy with the amount of chicken you get in one serving. The food tasted great also, and packaging was super clean/spill free."
"The cauliflower and potatoes dish was horrible, tasteless. The dishes are inconsistent, previous order it was covered in a tomato sauce, this time no sauce and very bland. Plus the portion size for the price is absolutely ridiculous. We had maybe 4 cauliflower florets and 5 small potatoes wedges.
The chicken tikki sauce was lumpy and lukewarm. The texture was like it sat for awhile then reheated in the microwave
Over all disappointing and will not order again."

"Veg. Jhol Momo (8 Pieces) , Paneer Tikka Masala, and Vegetable Korma (Contains Dairy/nuts) were very tasty. Veg. Biryani was reason I ordered from this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Has a little kick. When I order again I'd get an extra side of raita. The side that came with the rice was quite small. "
"Lamb chops were completely pink on the inside and tasted raw. I had to spit it out immediately. It was also very chewy. And portion sizes were very small given the price (about $28 but portions were worth maybe $17-18; even that may be generous).
I will not be ordering from here again."

"Their ' SAMBHAR ' , South Indian Lentil Soup on the Side is EXQUISITE ' !!! It had quartered squash in there & roasted black mustard seeds !!! All the Chutneys were Gr8 as were the ' Vada ' ( Fried Lentil Donuts ). The ' Curried Potato Filling inside the Dosa / Crepe was good as well, but the Dosa / Savory Crepe could be more ' Brown ' to my liking.
All in All though their South Indian Vegetarian Cuisine is a ' Gift to Downtown Berkeley '. Quite Unique. Have dined in and had their Thaali combination Lunch Plate & Madras Coffee.
The place is a Gem & Staff are Friendly & Obliging.
Highly recommend this ' Local Small Business' post Covid - 19 for genuine South Indian Cuisine !!!!"
"The VADAS( Fried Lentil DONUTS) were FANTASTIC, as was the Potato Filling in the DOSA CREPE wellspiced and not PUNGENT.

"Both the Butter Chicken and Vegan broccoli tikka masala were delicious! This was my first time ordering from this restaurant, and I will be adding them as a favorite. Next time I'll try something new, with one of the drinks. They are a bit pricey for the portion sizes, however both dishes fed two people, with a small amount left over for around $40. We added our own rice to the dishes to stretch the meal, since we ordered delivery"
"Scrumptious Indian food -- we've been fans since 2018. Despite the "diner" name, this is fine dining fare. As hot pepper wimps we love the non-hot options. "Aloo Mutter had three pieces of potato. For that price? Wow. Tasted great, so that's a real shame. Same for the Chicken Tikka Masala. 7 tiny pieces of chicken for 2 adults. It's a shame, this place used to be great, but now it's a total rip-off. 2 stars only because it tastes good."

"Wow! We've had some pretty subpar Indian on Door Dash and this is by far the best Indian food I've had in a long time! I called to ask if they could make the Aloo Gobi extra spicy and it was perfect. The Samosa Chaat was a perfect blend of spicy and sweet and the Chicken Tikka Masala was everything you'd want it to be.
The portions were smaller than expected, but I would much rather have quality over quantity. Will happily be ordering again! "

"Absolutely loved this place! It’s family-owned and you can taste the love and care in every bite. The food was incredibly fresh, and the flavors—just wow. The chicken came with a spicy sauce that was an absolute explosion of flavor, the kind that lingers in the best way. The naan was perfectly soft and buttery, great for scooping up all the extra sauce from the generous Chicken Tikka Masala, which was rich, creamy, and easily enough to satisfy two people. This is the kind of spot that makes you want to come back again and again. Highly recommend! Even spoke with owners daughter to share how amazing it was! Thank you! "

"The food is always so good here. But our favorite is the chicken tikka masala, the sauce is creamy and tasty and if you get it spicy it's perfect. My husband loves the lamb dishes here and often we order 2 lamb dishes (the vindaloo is always a winner). The garlic naan comes in 2 pieces and it's the best when it's hot and you dip it into any of the sauces or wrap your meat in the naan and eat it... delish! Even if you're not a fan of Indian food you should give this place a try... a lot to chose from so tasty!"

4 Dreams Nepali & Indian cuisine

"I recently tried the Chicken Momo lapping and Khana set at 4 Dreams Nepal I & Indian Cuisine, and it was a great experience overall.
The Chicken Momo lapping was the highlight. The momos were soft, juicy, and well stuffed with flavorful minced chicken. The “lapping” style, covered in a rich, slightly spicy sesame based sauce, added a creamy and tangy kick that made the dish stand out. The sauce was balanced not too spicy, but enough to give a nice warmth. The portion size was generous and perfect for sharing, although I could easily finish it myself because it was that good.
The Khana set felt like a complete and comforting meal. It came with rice, dal, vegetable curry, chicken curry, achar, and salad. The rice was fresh and fluffy. The dal was simple yet comforting, with a homestyle Nepali flavor. The chicken curry was tender and well cooked, with spices blended nicely without being overpowering. The achar added the perfect spicy and tangy contrast to the meal. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, just like traditional Nepali home cooking.
The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Overall, I would definitely recommend 4 Dreams Nepal I & Indian Cuisine for anyone craving authentic Nepali and Indian food, especially their Chicken Momo lapping and Khana set. I will definitely be going back again."
"The Dahl Tadka tasted like thickened grease fat from the bottom of the pan, like you would use to make buskits and gravy. It had no flavor other than fat and salt. I ordered two in hopes that it would be great, but couldn't eat either of them.
I have never had such an experience with any Indian Dahl dish before .
The soup was very tasty and the broth flavorful. I hoped to have it mild as I was recovering from surgery and was supposed to avoid spicy food. I'll order the soup again when I'm feeling better"

The rest of the food is not worth the price.... you get a measly portion of the main along with a small portion of daal and a huge portion of plain rice and and some plain salad leaves. Rogan Josh meatballs only 2 medium sized HARD as rocks meatballs - NOT worth the price. Waste of money can't eat them. The biryani arrived with the yogurt spilled over half the biryani....it looks like the yogurt has spoiled and tasted sour. Had to eat around the rice that was doused in yogurt.

"Everything I got (Garlic naan, lamb vindaloo, and chicken tikka masala) were all was so delicious and perfectly spiced! I ordered medium and put medium to hot in the comments, as I generally don't dare order the hottest offered but love a kick. I ordered side rice, which was enough for 2 and was perfectly cooked. "Decided to give this place a try and it did not disappoint! Even better I caught one of their BOGO free deals and my partner and I loved it!! Will be ordering again! "
"I ordered the Butter Chicken , medium spice with basmati rice and garlic naan. The butter chicken itself was gritty and some of the chicken was undercooked with skin still attached. There wasn't much spice. The flavor was more sweet than anything. The garlic naan smelled good but was a little stale. You also only get one piece, kind of expensive for $4.99. I will not be ordering again."

"Ok. So, wasn't exoecting to really enjoy the Calcutta Chicken Hakka Noodles and the Chicken 65. Flavorful, and just spicy enough to enjoy it. Chicken Tikka Masala and naan were ok-to-good. Didn't disappoint, but didn't wow either. Overall, will definitely order from here, and probably will want to try some of their lesser known dishes. The quantity was quite generous for the price and overall, nicely packaged and presented well. "
"This was the first time we have ordered from Chandi. The food was good but lacked any spice. It would be nice if you could indicate spice level. Even the Lamb Vindaloo which is called "spicy" was more of a medium spice level. We liked the Saag Panner and the Chicken Tikka but again no option to choose a spice level. The food was well packed and arrived hot. Overall the food was good, a bit pricy, but good."

"I recently tried the Chicken Momo and Malai Kofta, which were delicious! The Chicken Momo was packed with flavorful, juicy chicken filling and perfectly seasoned, and the dumpling wrappers had just the right texture—soft with a light chew. The accompanying dipping sauce was a tangy delight, complementing the momos beautifully.
On the other hand, the Malai Kofta was rich and creamy, with soft, melt-in-your-mouth koftas that absorbed the aromatic gravy to perfection. The sauce was luscious, balanced with mild spices and sweetness, making every bite comforting and indulgent.
Both dishes were well-prepared and presented; the flavors left a lasting impression. I highly recommend trying these for a satisfying meal"

"The food tasted good. The Mixed Pickle was a generous portion and tasted great. Butter Chicken was a little thicker gravy than I'm used to, but the flavor was perfect. Medium spicy was good. I took off one star bc they did not include utensils, napkins, or condiments which was a challenge in a hotel room. "
"Delighted the naan arrived in perfect condition. Yum. The chicken tikka masala was spiced as instructed. Alas, the sauce was incredibly watery, which was disappointing (comparedto past orders and other venue's). I do love that rice is included i the price. However, I wont be

"Amazing value for price! Chai Tea for $2.99 and Gulab Jamun for $3.99 blew me away in terms of flavor and cost. The Onion Kulcha and Chicken Tikka Masala were amazing entrees too, very flavorful. All the items came freshly hot, I even had to wait a bit for them to cool down. I'm usually picky with curry restaurants, but I am so glad I came across this one!"
"I ordered Veg tikka masala and Goat Curry.
The vegetables were well cooked, they tasted very fresh (crisp green beans, cauliflower, thinly sliced zucchini, and fine carrots). The sauce was a little bland.
The goat curry was very good, the meat was tender and the curry was flavorful.
The portions were also good. A good amount of actual meat and vegetables in the curries, and the entrees came with rice! So many places make you buy rice separately."

"Wow! Some of the best Indian food I've ever had. The Prawn Tikka Masala was amazing, I'm sure the chicken TM would be ever better but my bf doesn't eat chicken so we compromised this time. The Saag Paneer - amazing as well. Neither were too spicy, which we prefer. If you want spice I'd include it in the special instructions. The Garlic Naan and Butter Naan were okay, can't really go wrong with naan bread but could've been a little better taste/texture. Overall amazing! As far as portions go - one order of basmati rice is enough for 2 people. Wasn't sure since it was only $2.95 but it's a good amount! Veggie Vegetable Samosa were good too, could've used a bit more diverse spices/veggies. Added some mango Mango Chutney and it was definitely better that way. "
"I have ordered from here multiple times. Their vindaloo is delicious, packed with flavor and perfectly portioned for price. The lamb is so tender, it falls apart with just a fork. It always arrives hot and fresh, and I will continue to order from here, whenever I want Indian cuisine. Their garlic naan is amazing! If you are into cheesy naan, it's great too. I ordered it by accident one day, and was pleasantly surprised. (I don't usually do cheese naan.) great packaging is simple, and efficient! It keeps everything hot for arrival, and it can easily be used to store any leftovers, without dirtying any dishes."

"LITTI CHOKHA and Dahi Vada Chaat both were amazing. Loved the authentic taste."
"I was looking forward to the food because of all the great reviews! I ordered delivery due to recovering from a medical procedure. I wanted to treat myself because of having gone through all that.
The chicken biryani is supposed to come with a whole Cornish hen --- it literally says this on their menu. The TINY container only included a quarter of that. It was so sad-looking. I had imagined that even if they couldn't fit the whole hen, that they would maybe split it into at least two containers? I would've expected more for a menu item that cost $32. It was also supposed to include garlic raita, which was nowhere to be seen.
I also got the much-raved-about Alleppey fish & prawn curry ($34), which similarly left much to be desired. The gravy here actually didn't taste that different from the biryani's korma sauce.
Disappointed in what feels like lesser quality and care when it comes to folks who aren't able-bodied enough to eat at the restaurant. If you're ordering to-go/delivery, definitely DO NOT order the chicken biryani or the fish and prawn curry. You'll wish you saved the money/Doordash credits. I don't think I'd order from here again.
