"The platters were sooo good and seasoned to perfection!!! Nice portons. The Stewed chicken special and the Curried Chicken Roti the flavor is on point, hands down 5 stars in regard to flavor. The only negative issue (but not so negative) I would have to say wouldbe that I would have preferred chicken pieces in the roti to not have the bones, lol. I was enjoying it so much when I went to bite down, I bit into a large bone. So had to remove the bones. Overall, hands down a must try. I will be ordering again. They were sold out of the Pound Cake but did offer me a coconut as replacement. The coconut cake is pretty good also."
"This was my first time ordering from Island Spot and to be honest I was scared. It's the fourth Caribbean restaurant I've tried and I was worried because of past experiences.
The way the carefully wapped the food was impressive. I have not seen that. The mixed steamed veggies were not soggy but crunchy and flavorful. The Medium Curried Chicken was a nice portionfor the price and very good. The rice and peas was fresh and wasn't dry or soggy, just right.
Although they delivered quicker than the estimated 30 mins, the food was a bit cold. I was also unable to choose between white rice or rice and peas, which I found odd. "

"The food arrived cold. The basmati rice was unexpected and a bit hard for some reason. Perhaps it was undercooked? The pork was shredded super thin and did not taste good. "Absolutely loved my Coconut Curry Shrimp. The food was incredibly fresh and tasty. Authentic Trinidadian flavor.... the food melts in your mouth. I will be ordering again.... soon!"
"The curry goat roti for $24.49 was not worth the price!! The meal was with only 4 small pieces of meat that had a lot of chipped bones in the gravy, plus there was a lot of potatoes that I didn't care for. It also came with a small scoop of pumpkin and channa.. considering how inexpensive pumpkin and channa is the serving size could have been better. Definitely a 2 out of 10 rating!!!"

"Food is exceptional here! Always fresh, always flavorful and always delicious. My favorite on their menu is the fried turkey (well done) with brown rice and beans. The large comes with potato salad and if I order the small, I just add the potatoe salad as an extra. I order from this restaurant 2x a week and I tell everyone about them.
Do not hesitate to give them a try! Also, if you need certain accommodations with your order, just give them a call directly after; to submit your request. This is a "Chef's Kiss" restaurant."
"First time and the rice and beans were delicious and comforting. The fish was a little salty. Also, this particular order i only received a fish head. I thought i was getting a whole snapper. That should be stated. I do not like fish head, but i ate it. The pate, was a delight. Yummy, flaky. I just ordered 8 more this Am. Thank you"

"I have always liked the taste of their food better than any other Jamaican restaurant I've tried in my area:. Only issue is that most times I order, I am missing food. "I'm here from a different state , whenever I go to another state. I always make it my business to taste Haitian food. Magela's your tomtom gumbo is delicious, very flavorful, 10/10 . Next time I'm in town, I will definitely buy it again. The goat meat are way too big for me and I did not get any pikliz which makes it hard for me to eat the goat because it's not spicy. The same for the pig ears. The plantain is not fried to perfection. They are big and not crispy but tasty. If you had sent me one little pikliz my taste buds would have been happier. I will definitely recommend Magela's to my friends and families. By the way I saw that the pikliz was $2+ but I thought that was for extra, I don't know any Haitian restaurant that serves food without pikliz. I will make sure to add pikliz next time. The Akra was not too flavorful but eatable."
"Been craving Haitian food for a while, and I’m so glad I found this spot in East Orange, NJ. The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Portions are generous, more than enough and the prices are very reasonable. This was my second order, and it’s officially my go-to spot whenever I’m in town."

"They hooked it up fr I expected a small platter but was able to split between two people its like thanksgiving again I did add extra seasonings but it didnt need any the mac ain't your typical put together Mac this that good black Mac as for the jerk chicken they add onions to garnish the dish but honestly id opt out for those, also the blue berry muffin slaps definitely will order again lookin foward to trying the other deserts and definitely that brisket maybe in person next time for the full experience!"
"Hands down love this place for their Jerk Chicken Platter. The sides are nothing too exciting. Like the Mac and cheese are okay, and potato fries/lemon pepper fries are soggy whenever it gets to me. Probably because of their container. But the Jerk chicken. Hands down top tier. Ordered twice wasn't a fluke. I will order in the future."

"As a Jacan, Trinis make the best roti period. Glad this restaurant came across my feed. Best roti in this side of town."
"I was so excited to see a TT cafe nearby I just had to try it.
Staring with the Doubles , the pepper had a very spiced mustardy taste, which I loved. I hate when something is just hot for nothing, it was both hot and flavorful. The barra was a little bigger than I'm used to but as a result one was enough. Very pleasant, 8/10.
The bake and Saltfish stole the show honestly. It was still so very hot when it arrived, the bake was quite fresh as well as the saltfish. Pleasantly seasoned. This is going to be my go to. 11/10 please don't ever change this!
The Buss Up was nice, standard. I loved it. Going to go great with my meal tonight.
Lastly the Aloo Pie could've been better. I would've liked to try it without the extra sauces, as the flavors overwhelmed the pie.
I wish the Currant Rolls were in stock, I crave them so bad. Next time though, as I'll surely be ordering again. Thank you to the staff!"

"The Medium Brown Stew & Sidesas delicious!!And the rice and peas wasnt dry but moist and fluffy. Definitely ordering again."
"First time trying this restaurant. I really wanted stew chicken. The chicken was tender and nice sized pieces for the price. The flavor of the chicken was ok but not wow this is really good. I the rice was ok as well, different than the regular riceand peas. The steamed cabbage was mushy, water, with huge pieces from the middle of the cabbage and no flavor at all; it tasted like nothing. Overall the meal was just ok. "

"First time ordering and as a Dominican myself the food is authentic. Everything was delicious and what I appreciated most was that they packaged everything carefully and sauces did not end up in the bag.
I definitely recommend this place. "
"The empanadas are huge so good the soup well seasoned and good portions. I loved that it came with rice and the Maduros were the perfect texture. The rice has plenty of meat and flavor!"

"I'm fairly new to African cuisine, and today I tried the Banku and okro soup. It was AMAZING! I planned to take a picture, but I dug right in! The portions were so generous that I have enough for 2 meals. I've tried a few African restaurants recently, and Tasti Cuisine is definitely my favorite so far! The lady who answered the phone was also super sweet and helpful. Great food and great customer service! I'll definitely be back!"
"Very spicy and they gave me two measly prices of turkey ..Wouod not reccomend if you have low spice tolerance and the plantain was seemingly left out for some time before serving. The portion is small for twelve I expected a bit more ."

"giving 5 stars basically cuz the Whiting (4 pcs) was truly on point.. used to live in the BX and the fish spot was amazing and coming out here to Jersey we've been searching for a spot with great fried Whiting and we've found it 💯
the Wings and Fries was really good but I thought the wings were gonna be fried like from the Chinese spot but these were with flour/dredge.. they were tasty but also there were only 3 when this special says there's supposed to be 4. [real rating would be like 4.5 but can't do halves here"
"The food here is really good. I've ordered from them many times and it's consistently good. The catfish is my favorite, but the Oxtail pasta is also excellent. And the green beans are fantastic. Portion sizes are generous."
