"I order from the Playwright often, and have written before about their good meals, but THIS was extraordinary. Steak was perfectly char-grilled (not blackened), the mixed vegetables were abundant and pan seared to achieve the perfect buttery mouth-feel, the sautéed mushroom and onion garnish atop the steak was sublime, playing a perfect second fiddle to the flavor profile of the meat itself. The baked potato was cooked just long enough to have a slightly crispy outer skin and a soft, light and chewy inside. I sincerely hope they pay whoever was running the kitchen tonight top dollar. "This is my Hickory Burger from the Wood-n-Tap restaurant, which I ordered at the peak dinner hour of exactly 6:22. I ordered my burger exactly as it is on the menu at the cook temperature of Medium Rare. I do like my burger to be quite pink so I ALWAYS order delivered red meat more rare than I would in a restaurant as the meat will keep cooking in the box & bag on the way to my house-just a tip for food ordering newbies and this goes double for steak orders.
I received my order earlier than expected by about 10 minutes about 37 minutes total time from order to delivery...and it was ABOVE AND BEYOND AMAZING. Considering the 20something degree temperature outside and a 15-20 mile trip from restaurant to my home everything arrived incredibly well.
I ordered 2 of these burgers, 1 for myself and one for my hubby. The frizzled onions were still awesomely crispy, i almostwish I added extra even though im stuffed to capacity cuz they were so awesome. Frizzled onions are something that I find even when I order and eat inside a restaurant can often be a very hard item to nail and they NAILED IT- these were fantastic. The bacon was still crisp, the fries were warm and clearly not fresh from the fryer because they'd obviously been delivered, but they definitely still had a crispness to them. As you can see in the photos (and if you've ever ordered high end takeout or just brought home leftovers before) you probably know that condensation can sometimes be an issue in travel- its the tax you pay to not have to leave your home for incredibly amazing food.
I took a few photos, this way you can see what a delivery of this burger's doneness at medium rare in delivery at my time, temperature and distance looks like, as well as the burger's size which was bigger than my entire hand- I will say my hand is a woman's hand and I wouldn't say I have a large hand at all, but I'd say the burger was pretty darn large. I apologize for having taken my photo of the entire box of food with a bite taken from it, it just smelled and looked so amazingly delicious and I was so hungry that I just had to take a giant bite.
This was my very first time ever ordering from Wood-n-Tap, but I can assure you it will not be my last. This burger was juicy, lean, seasoned amazingly and beefy- exactly what I was craving- a REAL BURGER. This is not some puny paper thin fast food mystery meat grease bomb. If thats what you're craving you know where to go to get it. But with prices these days, with a total plus tip not much more than one of those neon sign fast food joints... I'll take Wood-n-Tap over that other trash ANYDAY! If I could give 20 stars I would!"
"The Dirty Chicken Wrap was so good. I loved the tangy sauce. The portion was big and all the ingredients tasted fresh! I loved that the avocado was actually RIPE! That was the best part. I'm usually iffy about dishes with avocado but this one did not disappoint! I'm glad I ordered it! The Steak Taco was my favorite. The Shrimp Taco was good too but I preferred the savory steak. I am so full from those three things that I'll have to eat my Caesar Salad Caesar Salad Large and Spinach Artichoke Flatbread later tonight. I am hopeful they will be just as good. "Trashhhh! If I could give this place zero stars, that would still be too gracious. I've given this place a few tries and every single time I do they mess up the order so bad. I've literally never received the correct order from this place. Not only that but the rice is terribly undercooked and the portions of protein in the burrito bowl are so ridiculous that it's mostly just rice and beans in a bowl with a tiny scoop of everything else. The last time I ordered from here, they put some spicy sauce in my bowl, that i didn't order btw, that made it impossible to eat because it was so spicy my mouth was on fire and I legit just tossed the whole Thing. They don't handle any of the food with care and literally just give you whatever they want. I won't even mention that the order itself is printed on a label that goes on the lid so it should be an easy check and fix but that is definitely not happening. If you love to be disappointed after having a craving for some chipotle, this is the place you want to order from. If there's anything they are consistent in, it's completely ruining your order and taste for Mexican food. At least they are consistently failing. Go team. "
