"All my boyfriend has talked about for a day was wanting an everything bagel. I live 30 mi. away in the SFV. He travels from my house to work by motorcycle so I wanted to do something nice for him so I dashed a surprise brunch bagel and OJ as he arrived. I wasn't able to find any another eatery with an "everything" bagel. Bagel options were also bigger than other places. I was very impressed with drink options as well as variety of sweets. "When I originally visited the Torrance lunasia, it was shortly after they opened and a little chaotic. my order was not correct and the food was not as wonderful as the Cerritos location. I chalked it up to working out the Kinks of opening a new location.
I decided to try again and ordered delivery. I ordered Salt and Pepper Spare Ribs 椒鹽排骨 , which, by the way, seemed to be full pork loin chops, large, thick and juicy. Wonderful surprise.
I ordered the Pan-Fried Vermicelli w/ Curry 星洲炒米粉 (known to me as Singapore style rice noodle). Chock full of BBQ pork, shrimp so large you can't eat in one bite, egg and other delicious veggies.
The Hot and sour soup (Bowl) 酸辣湯 was also delicious, not too sour, the seasoning was well-balanced.
And finally, the Macao Style Egg Custard 葡國蛋撻. They were still warm, so I had to eat one right away. It was wonderful to bite into the warm, crispy crust and delicious soft custard center. YUMMMM!
I'm happy to see that the Torrance Lunasia appears to have gotten the recipe rythym. Will definitely return."

"I decided to try this place mainly because I love Halo-Halos. I wanted to see if this place compared to the others. Unfortunately, the Halo-Halo had barely any sweetened fruits and beans at all, it was just a glorified sno-cone. It was mostly just a cup of ice. I had one scoop of beans on top, but throughout there were maybe 3 chunks of fruit if even that? The ube ice cream and flan were good at least, but it was nothing like the picture. The Rice Bowl was bland and didn't come with any green onion like it shows in the picture. I can't really believe I spent that much money on bland rice and dry chicken, I could have made that at home myself for much less. The Chili Garlic Oil Packet did help a little bit (along with sweet and sour sauce), but not enough to save the dish. Overall, I wouldn't order from here again, or at least not the items I did order. Maybe other items are better, but after this experience I am not sure if I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt."

There was that looked like pieces of one egg, with the white parts ripped apart and the yolk broken. The best way I could describe the egg was that it looked like remnants of what a dog had eaten. "The crispy roast pork was dry, hard, burned and not crispy! Made me believe was it was leftover from yesterday. There were only a few pieces that were edible. The har gow was awful filled with dry ground shrimp wrapped in thin wonton wrapper instead of shrimp meat covered in flour wrapper. Charsiu bao and shumai were not up to par either. Very disappointed in the food this time which surprised us since we have ordered food from them for years. I also requested that the food be delivered to me directly for which I paid extra, but I received a text stating that a delivery was made to another address before mine which was cold by the time I received my order. I will not be ordering food from Hong Kong Bakery from now on. $81 down the drain!!!"

The quality of the ingredients for both dishes definitely was recognized . I'm a little bothered by the price and portion .
