"I DoorDashed a large chicken pho and two spring rolls from Pho Queen expecting takeout. What arrived instead was an event so monumental it deserves to be added to Canadian history textbooks.
The first sip of that broth made every other meal I’ve ever eaten immediately lose all credibility. Birthdays, holidays, expensive restaurants, family recipes, every single one of them got demoted to “pretty decent.” The broth tasted like it had been simmering continuously since the beginning of human civilization under the protection of a council of grandmothers who would rather fight a bear than share the recipe. The chicken was so unbelievably tender I genuinely started wondering if I’d been chewing food incorrectly my entire life. The spring rolls were so outrageously good they disappeared before my brain had enough time to process that I was supposed to savor them.
By the end I was holding the bowl with both hands, tilting it toward my face like I’d just discovered water for the first time. If someone told me this meal added ten years to my lifespan, I’d believe them without asking for evidence. If someone told me I’d never be allowed to eat Pho Queen again, I’d start researching constitutional law. This wasn’t dinner. This was a religious experience disguised as DoorDash. "
