"The first time I ordered from this place was last week and this is my third order very good. It's so flavorful."
"The seafood was great, perfectly cooked but The medium spice wasn't spicy at all. The FRIED CHICKEN PO BOY was a disappointment. It only had three small pieces of chicken, if there were maybe five pieces of chicken it could have sufficed but it felt like I was eating a bunch of bread. I paid 1$ extra for ranch and I got small packets of Heinz ranch which was also a little disappointing."

"Loved the Jambalaya!! Absolute Best was the Shrimp Po Boy with extra slaw and tomatoes. Gumbo had lots of sausage slices, I think too much rice, and it was missing something -- I don't know what though. Crayfish pasta was about a pound of pasta. Huge portions of everything. Glad they included some bread.
I will definitely order Shrimp Po Boy and Jambalaya again."
"The 50/50 with fish and shrimp was very disappointing. Two pieces of catfish is really equivalent to one piece cut in half...never had catfish pieces that tiny. The fish could have been cooked just slightly longer and have a bit more flavor. The shrimp were small and very bland, no real flavor. Ample fries but interesting taste that I didn't really like and they were not crispy. Food was lukewarm and not enough, wasn't full. Not worth the price."

"This is the first time I ordered this dish & it was DELISH!!! I will definitely be ordering from here again. Not bad for $20 when you get 10 large shrimp, more like prawns, which is much bigger than reg shrimp!!!"
"I normally order from Bag O Crab but was told this place was pretty good. first they didn't give me a novelty bag like most people. I received my order in a brown bag which I wasn't happy about. crab was skimpy and skinny, potatoes were extremely small medallions but they were cooked completely. The sauce was extremely salty. definitely not worth the price. I'll still with Bag O Crab you get way more for less."

"Coming from NC where biscuits are a religion (s/o to Biscuitville, Bojangles, Rise, Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen & more), I'm a biscuit and sweet tea girly! Their Southern sweet tea is the real deal. The Sausage Egg and Cheese Biscuit is substantial, no frills, and the melty cheese on the paper makes it taste legit. The Pimento Cheese Biscuit has a generous amount of pimento cheese. For folks don't know what it is, it's similar to a chunky "shmear" of CC, mayo, cheddar, pimentos and whatever else makes your recipe special. I like that theirs isn't runny. Every region (and even family) has their own pimento cheese recipe so try theirs and decide for yourself if it's your thing!"
"This biscuit was slightly burnt and dry and the chicken was under seasoned. If I were to order again I would try something else. The biscuit was also pretty small for $14. For that price it would be nice if they added an extra biscuit on the side"

"This was a mostly empty tray of fried fish bits. I have to admit him a little disappointed. For $25 delivered I expected at least one good catfish nugget and that's kind of what I got just one. "Ordered Braised Oxtails for my uncle and I. We both had enough food for at least two meals. The flavor was absolutely perfect. I had black-eyed peas and cabbage, which were both beyond what I expected. My uncle RAVED about the Candied Yams. I will definitely be ordering again."
"Combo 4 was good! The shrimp and chicken were well seasoned, and the shrimp were battered and fried perfectly. The sole could use more seasoning since it’s a mild fish, but I’d still order the combo again.
The oxtails came with only three small pieces and needed more flavor—some salt, garlic powder, or onion powder would help. My sides were mac and cheese and yams, but the to-go compartments weren’t filled, so the portions felt small for $52.
Overall, I’d get Combo 4 again, especially for the shrimp!"

"Excellent vegan offering in Jack London, a great area for all cuisines and not surprisingly for those of us who are plant based! The dishes we ordered from the Combo Plate c/w Herb Basmati Rice and especially the BBQ Tofu, collard greens and rice were delicious! "Everything we ordered was delicious!!! DO NOT CHANGE THE RECIPES INGREDIENTS!! I felt like I was in New Orleans and we were so happy to get full from a meal. The Shrimp Etoufee was a hit. The flavor was authentic! The Voodoo Shrimp will keep the vampires away with the garlic butter. The House Salad was superb and was done with class and not as an afterthought. The Mac n Cheese was creamy and I loved the white cheese approach. Of course the Peaches and Cream Bread Pudding was spot on and warm on arrival.
We will be back for brunch and this time we will visit. Great job!!! #oaklandnativeswithlouisianaroots"

"Spectacular unctous flavors - enough for leftovers! The Tamarind Ginger was the perfect accompaniment - refreshingly zesty!"
"Fulfilling a craving of authentic Jamaican food. I could only really compare the dishes to a friend's Jamaican food and restaurants we tried in Florida. Definitely fall off the bone jerk chicken and the oxtail had great flavors! I originally ordered the white rice but they ran out. The clerk removed it from my order and asked for me to reorder the substitute I requested which was the rice and peas. But since I ordered later in the evening, DoorDash wouldn't allow me to order saying they were closed. I believe the manager Kevin said it would be on the house. So thankful for a great first experience! The rice and peas were a hit! Packed with flavor!! Anyone ordering just white rice is missing out!"

"I got the classic Caesar and the crispy chicken tenders with fries. What wasn't mentioned is that they pre-cover your tenders in the sauce and the salad was pre-dressed, but very saturated to the point where it was wet I would've preferred to be able to dip my tenders and dress my own salad or just not be as sauce heavy. Besides that the flavors were great."

It's always fresh and cooked just how I want it to be cooked especially if you leave a note to do so. Fish was flavorful and and had the perfect snap every time with every bite nd the perfect mount of crisp on it to. Fries are always a hit when they're hot but if you let them get cold it's bad. But well worth it."

"This place has to be one of the best deliveries I've ordered. The Lobster Roll - Lake, the Salmon - Crab & Brie , the Banana Bread Pudding were heavenly! Thank you for the best lunch ever!"
"1) Kids Fish and Chips - inedible. Arrived literally swimming in a pool of grease. French fries were limp, pale and extremely undercooked. Did not receive any sides, as described. Did not receive brownie. Would have received better fruit from a Motel 6 continenti breakfast.
2) Braised Short Ribs - meat was confusingly dry throughout, with what appeared to be a turkey gravy - definitely not the promised red wine sauce and definitely not an appropriate amount. Meat was flavorless, although the (wrong) sauce was tasty. Carrots had a nice bite, but once again: zero seasoning. Everything lacked the juicy depth of flavor normally associated with this dish. I'm going to pick out the choice bites and turn the rest into a soup. Mashed potato side was delicious and extremely generous portion - far more potatoes than meat in this dish.
3) Garlic Mashed Potatoes - I'm saving these for later, but for $9, you're getting a scoop that looks to be about 6-8 oz. Tasty, but that's very expensive!
I spent almost a day's wages treating myself and got slightly more than 1 meal's worth of mediocre food... I would consider Lake Chalet to be a huge waste of money. Maybe the charm lies in eating at the actual restaurant...?"

"I was very disappointed with my first experience. The meats were dry and had very little sauce—I actually had to add Kinder’s BBQ sauce when I got home. The mac and cheese and yams were both lacking flavor, and the yams didn’t even have the syrup or juice that usually comes with them. My wheat bread was also missing from the order. "3 PIECE BATTERED FISH & CHIPS was mostly crispy outside, hot, soft and flaky inside, seasoned well, generous portion. The NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER was spectacular, piping hot and seasoned well, fresh ingredients. I shouldnt have ordered zucchini under the fish instead of fries, it made some soggy spots on the bottom of the fish but overall very solid, especially for delivery! "
"fish and chips was great and, the battered green beans were my favorite part. only thing is don't order the tomato feta for your side if you want a lot of food - it was tasty but literally one tomato sliced with feta and herbs on top. tasty, but not good value for money with that side."

"Well, I didn't expect this place to be this good!!!! Absolutely delicious and great value, I had a sando combo. They listened to my special requests and everything was delicious. I love the Mac and cheese, and love how big the sandwich was. I'll be back and can't wait to try my doughnut with chocolate sauce."
"Chicken tenders? Nope, si much more!! Two HUGE cuts of white meat skillfully battered and fried to perfect crispness. I chose Mac n cheese as my side and it was prorated using pimento cheese. I'm usually not a fan but this was excellent! Just enough spice to cut the heaviness that comes with dense, creamy Mac n cheese. Diablita say amen!"

"My first time trying this place and man the chicken was so fresh & hot, it was crunchy n delicious omg. And the BISCUIT !!! Omg that was the best biscuit ive ever had in my life. It fell apart when i picked it up from how soft and fresh n fluffy it was. It had just a slight golden brown crispiness on the outside, light n buttery with a hint of honey it was just divine. They really did that, I will def be a repeat customer "
"Usually the chicken is cooked well and is crispy and the flavor is mouth watering and the wedges are cooked well and not tonight the chicken was rushed I can tell and the flavor was absolute garbage."

"Sooooo good! We had been craving soul food but didn't know Scends was on DoorDash. I'm glad they are! The Oxtails were tender and delicious. The gravy came on the side but that was great. no spills. Same with the Turkey Wings. The Mac n cheese and yams were also good. Definitely recommend. My only complaint is that they aren't on Dash Pass so that makes it way too expensive with all the extra fees for me to order weekly. otherwise I would!"
"Let me just say this it was me and my son first time eating here. When I saw the food was so good. Pork chops was so fat and juicy. The potato salad was great. The greens was so delicious. The banana pudding was SO GOOD!!! I told my mama she need to go there and I’m about tell my sister and friends to go there omg. Food so darn good. The cook needs to take there bow."

"I love it! My favorite BBQ steak, with the combination of pineapple and crunchy vegetable rolls—the perfect combination."
"The chicken and steak were decent quality and not over-salty. The BBQ sauce added great flavor along with the green onions in the steak. The servings were a fair size and the kale salad and roasted cucumber added good texture to the dish.
I felt the meal was a little over-priced however. The portion was decent but not for $22 worth (extra $3 for the BBQ steak.)"
