They just opened in June, and what a fantastic addition to the Portage Park neighborhood at the corner of Irving & Narragansett.
I recently discovered this place and have already been incredibly impressed. Everything tastes fresh, homemade and prepared with care. The owner was so welcoming when I first stopped in and even offered me several samples to try, which immediately made me want to come back.
Tonight I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, juicy and beautifully grilled, the pita was warm and fresh, and the tzatziki was honestly some of the best I’ve had. The portions are also incredibly generous — I couldn’t believe how much food came with my order!
You would never know from the quality and presentation that this is a casual takeout place. It tastes like food you’d expect from a really good Greek restaurant. It’s obvious that the owner takes a lot of pride in what he serves, and that makes such a difference.
They’re a brand-new local business, so I wanted to give them a shout-out. I really hope people in the neighborhood discover this place and support them. I will absolutely be back.
